What Is Botox?
Botox is used in medical field to treat wrinkles and facial creases. Botox is a brand name of a toxin made by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. There are also other brands, such as Allergan, Dysport, Xeomin, etc. Botox is the term you hear more often because it was the first injectable botulinum toxin. It is normally uses for reducing wrinkle on the face such as forehead, eyes, or nose.
How does Botox work?
Botox (Botulinum toxin) injections helps to reduce the muscle size and activity on your face in order to blend the lines and wrinkles. However, Botox will dissolve after 3-6 months. Since it is reversible process, you will need Botox re-injection every 3-6 months in order to maintain the result.

How Is a Botox Procedure Done?
This procedure is fast without using anesthesia. The small needle will be used to deliver Botox into the targeted masseter muscle.
Generally, the full effect of V-shape Botox will occur in 4 to 6 weeks. It’s best to avoid alcohol at least 1 week before the procedure. You should also stop taking aspirin and anti-inflammatory medications 2 weeks before treatment to help prevent bruising. Avoid heat such as outdoor activity or exercise and work-out because heat will dissolve botox.
Avoid rubbing the injection site for 24 hours so you don’t spread the Botox to another area. Your doctor may also tell you to stay upright for 4 hours after the shots.
How Long Does a Botox Shot Last?
Normally, the V shaped effects from Botox will last 3 to 6 months due to return of muscle action. The lines and wrinkles start appear and need to be injected with Botox again. However, the severity of lines and wrinkles often appear less with time because of muscle shrinkage.
What happens after having Jaw Botox?
