Intraoral 3D scanner

An intraoral scanner is a novel dental tool that is used to create highly detailed 3D digital models of a patient’s teeth and gums. The scanner uses a small wand with a high resolution camera at the end that captures images of the teeth and gums from multiple angles. These images are then compiled into a digital model, which can be used to create a range of dental works such as veneers, crowns, bridges, , dental implant, ceramic filling, smile design, dentures, clear aligner, night guard, dental implant guided stent, surgical stent, etc.

Intraoral scanners are often used as an alternative to traditional dental impressions, which involve taking a physical mold of the patient’s teeth using a putty-like material. Intraoral scanners are faster, more accurate, and more comfortable for patients than traditional impressions. They also allow dentists to immediately review the digital model, make adjustments as needed, and send it to a dental lab for fabrication of the restoration.

In addition to creating digital models for dental restorations, intraoral scanners can also be used for 3 dimensional dental check-up, treatment planning, orthodontic analysis, and monitoring of gum health. They are an important tool in modern dentistry and are increasingly being used by dental professionals around the world.
